Lets take a look at the real numbers — not the Stock Market suicidal value explosion
Last week numbers:
498,000 first time applicants for unemployment assistance
121,000 Pandemic Unemployment Aid
619,000 (Total) - We are told the US recovery is “roaring” back to health….Hmmmm
Well over 50% of the “NEW” jobs being created are either part-time jobs and low-paying jobs, or full-time jobs that do not pay a living wage ($31,000 = $15 per hour)
National Numbers:
650,00 Higher Education layoffs
28% of those who apply for unemployment benefits in America receive them
72% of those who apply are turned down
Michigan — No longer provides unemployment benefits to those are unemployed due to Covid-19
1000s of small businesses closed
40% of US department stores have closed over past 5 years
50% of the remaining 1600 department will be closed by 2025
Dozens and dozens of schools will be closed over the next five years
When are we going to have a REAL conversation about the future US economy?
